Auchterhouse Primary School, winning recipe free range pork & leek sausage.

A competition was held at the school and this recipe was chosen as the best. 4 of the pupils then visited our premises and made the sausages by themselves, mincing the meat and leaks, mixing the seasoning and filled the sausage machine. They then hand linked the sausages, weighed, bagged and labelled them.

The sausages were cooked and tested by the children in our takeaway immediately after with a "thumbs up "approval by all. We would like to the school staff and children for making this possible.

Auchterhouse Pork & Leek winning recipe sausage will now be available in our retail shops at a trial price of £5.99 per kilo.

Yorkes are an approved cutting plant under the FSA guidelines, this ensures that our plant and staff are regulary audited and inspected by meat vetenary inspectors. This accreditation allows our company to export our fresh meat products to Europe.

Yorkes employee the services of this local company to inspect our premises on a weekly basis. Sampling products for microbiological results, testing shelf liifes and monitoring and update our in house Quality Manuals with managers and staff. They also look after our Health & Safety working practices, Fire Safety and risk assesment from an independant and proffessional perspective.
